Understanding mobility patterns across the Envelopa Campus
The Envelopa Mobility Dashboard provides an interactive overview of movement within and around the Envelopa campus at Palacký University Olomouc from May 2025 to May 2026. It brings together three mobility datasets, allowing for comparison between different transport modes, sensor sources and time periods, all in one place.
The dashboard was developed to allow for visual exploration of how mobility changes across the study area over time. It is possible to inspect patterns by day, week, month, academic term, weekday and weekday within a month.
The presented maps and charts throughout the website have been designed to present temporal trends, spatial differences, and variations between data sources in a clear and accessible way.
It should be kept in mind that mobility counts should be interpreted as estimates rather than exact ground-truth observations due to measurement uncertainties. These differences are communicated in the Sensor Comparison section of the dashboard, where the EnCLOD and Telraam datasets are compared at shared monitoring locations.
How to use the website
Start on the Dashboard. Select an aggregation level and time period, then click on a road segment, sensor point or route. This updates the summary panel for the selected feature.
The Annual Mobility Trends chart shows how daily mobility changes across the selected year; View the Average 24-hour mobility pattern to understand the typical hourly profile during the day, rather than results from one specific date.
Use Time Comparison to compare two time periods. Set Period A and Period B, then review the side-by-side map results to view changes between the selected time ranges.
Use Sensor Comparison to compare EnCLOD and Telraam counts at shared locations. Select the available site and aggregation, then review traffic volumes, signed differences, extreme differences and agreement patterns between the two datasets.
